Giants’ Malik Nabers Set to Play Against the Commanders

The New York Giants are expected to have wide receiver Malik Nabers on the field for their upcoming game against the Washington Commanders. Nabers, who missed a practice session earlier this week due to knee soreness, returned as a full participant on Friday. Despite the setback, Giants’ coach John Harbaugh confirmed, “He’ll be ready to play Sunday.” Nabers had previously been out with a right knee injury from last season, which required surgery and a recent cleanup procedure.
Joining Nabers in the lineup are left tackle Andrew Thomas, dealing with a groin issue; running back Cam Skattebo, who had a shoulder concern; and tight end Isaiah Likely, suffering from knee and groin issues. All three practiced fully on Friday after limited participation earlier in the week. This pattern of resting then practicing appears to be part of a strategic approach by the Giants, particularly with Thomas. Harbaugh, however, remained non-committal when asked if this would be Nabers’ regular routine.
Nabers has been a key player for the Giants this season, leading the team with 208 receiving yards. He is coming off a strong performance against the Arizona Cardinals, where he recorded 112 yards and a touchdown. Nabers, reflecting on his condition earlier in the week, noted, “Just sore. We’ll see how the next day goes, but through the week, I’m usually sore. But this one was kind of a little bit more sore. I always continue to fight through it.” The Giants aim to strengthen their lead in the NFC East with a victory over the Commanders.
